The Glen Ridge Art Patrons Association (GRAPA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering the fine, visual and media arts in the Glen Ridge schools and community. We support the presentation of the Glen Ridge Arts festival every year in May which is sponsored by the Glen Ridge Home and School Association. A portion of the proceeds from this event are dedicated to providing scholarships to students continuing as art majors in college and to acquiring much needed equipment for school art rooms.
The Arts Festival takes place outdoors, rain or shine, in the area adjacent to the Glen Ridge High School on Ridgewood Avenue and along Ridgewood Avenue on the day before Mother’s Day in May. There is food, entertainment, student performances and a massive student art show every year with art in multiple mediums displayed from all grades. The festival, a juried show for hand-crafted work, is promoted in a number of local newspapers and their websites, on the Glen Ridge town website as well as in crafter guides and publications. The show is also posted on the local access cable TV channel. All work presented for sale is handcrafted by the artist. Any vendor selling imports or buy/sell will forfeit their space and entry fee, and will be required to leave the show. Each accepted vendor will receive a supply of handbills for self-promotion purposes.
The Arts Festival will take place Saturday, May 11th, 2019-10am to 3:30pm. This year we are offering 2 ways to apply for acceptance to be a part of the Festival. ATTENTION TOWN (Glen Ridge & Montclair only) ORGANIZATIONS
You are welcomed to present your services at the Festival free of charge. We will provide a space for you to set up your table and tent. We do not provide tables and tents.
Please let us know you are coming CONTACT US and what you will be presenting, giving away or selling. You can also contact us through the US mail.
There are restrictions; you cannot sell anything that costs more than $5.00 and it cannot be an item that would compete with any craft the paying vendors at the Festival are selling.
